Assessment plans are individualized to address a youth’s specific areas of concern, but will include:
Intake Interview with Parent/Caregiver/Young Adult
60-90 minute interview with parents (or young adult themselves) to gather information about the youth’s developmental history and the concerns that bring them in for testing.
Parent assessments may also be completed during this appointment.
Parents will receive electronic questionnaires after the appointment to complete at home and/or send to the youth’s teacher or others familiar with them.
Testing Appointment(s)
Youth will participate in one or more testing session, usually lasting between 2 - 6 hours.
Testing usually takes place on one day, if possible, unless splitting testing over multiple days is more appropriate for a child’s age or attention capacity.
Usually, parents need not be present throughout the testing appointment, depending on child age.
Feedback Appointment with Parent/Caregiver/Young Adult
A 60 minute feedback appointment will be scheduled about 2 weeks after testing .
The psychologist will discuss: test results, any relevant diagnoses that emerged from the evaluation, and suggest strategies, recommendations, & next steps to help the youth succeed.
Typically, the written report will be provided during this appointment.
Written Report with Assessment Results & Comprehensive Recommendations
